MAJORITY is looking for a Risk Data Analyst to join our Risk Team in Houston, TX.

As a member of the Risk Team, you will be in a team of hard-working & highly collaborative individuals. Additionally, you will work with colleagues from all over the company, regardless of level, on cross-functional projects. In your role, you will spend the majority of your time focused on the following:

• Performing data analysis to draw insights from customer behaviors & activity in support of monitoring & reporting.
• Helping to develop advanced transaction monitoring processes & tools, including machine learning models that detect suspicious activity such as potential fraud or identity theft.
• Developing internal tools & reports to supplement or reinforce Risk operations 
• Supporting & improving the customer screening processes (KYC & Sanctions)
• Leverage data to identify or detect new patterns & behaviors across the majority ecosystem.
• Developing scripts to detect fraud & potential money laundering, thereby reducing risk exposure.
• Come up with creative ideas on how to proactively prevent & detect fraud & money laundering
• Drive data-driven results with a proven ability to achieve both team &  individual goals

Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields.
• Experience in Business intelligence, automation & data/statistical analysis as a Data Analyst, Business intelligence Analyst, or in a similar role
• Proficiency in Looker or similar tools & SQL
• Proficiency in Python, financial analysis & data visualization using large data sets
• Experience in risk management or transactional analysis
• Experience in the banking or financial industries is preferred but not required.
